Southeastern Arizona

southeastern arizona

Birds of Southeastern Arizona focuses on over 400 birds that live in, or migrate through, Pima, Santa Cruz, and Cochise Counties, as well as southern Maricopa, Pinal, Graham, and Greenlee Counties, an area of approximately 25,000 square miles.
This book will also identify almost all of the regularly occurring birds within the state of Arizona, all the way from Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument to Grand Canyon National Park. Many of these same species range from Southern California to West Texas, and Birds of Southeastern Arizona will help provide a solid foundation for understanding the avian (bird) dynamics of the American Southwest. Go to Habitats to learn about the plants communities that support the diverse populations of birds in southeastern Arizona.
There are over 9 local National Audubon Society chapters in Arizona that strive to educate people, and address and improve environmental conditions that impact birds and subsequently our quality of life. Go to the Links page for more information on these resources.
